Featured Artist: Dennis Young
We’re excited to shine a spotlight on our featured artist, Dennis Young, whose beautiful stained-glass creations are a true reflection of creativity, patience, and passion.
After a rewarding 31-year career with Walt Disney World, Dennis retired and began looking for a hobby to keep himself busy. A friend introduced him to stained glass by gifting him a starter kit and a glass grinder—and he quickly discovered a new passion.
What started as a hobby creating pieces for family soon grew into something much bigger. Friends began asking Dennis to donate his stained-glass artwork to charity silent auctions, encouraging him to continue developing his skills and explore his creativity. Over time, his work has been showcased at the 2nd Story Gallery & Studio in Fernandina Beach.
Today, Dennis continues creating beautiful stained-glass pieces from his home in Auburndale, Florida, where he lives with his wife. When he’s not working on his latest glass project, you can find him playing pickleball or tennis and enjoying time with friends.
We’re honored to feature Dennis and share his incredible work with our community. His story is a wonderful reminder that retirement can be the beginning of a new creative chapter—and sometimes, all it takes is one small opportunity to discover a lifelong passion.
